I am getting my son started on coin collecting, and we have chosen Jefferson nickels first. I have an old Whitman folder that only goes up to 1969. My question is, "How do I find out which mints were used for each of the years after 1969?" I think that in some years only the Denver mint was used, and in others maybe only Philadelphia or San Francisco, or any combination of the above. If you get a chance, would you kindly point us the right direction? Thanks in advance...

I have several types of american coins from Indian Head pennies to Liberty dollars. The most interesting monetary piece I have is an old paper bill of some sort. It is 7 inches long by 3 inches wide with numerous portraits. It is a five dollar note drawn on the Seneca County Bank, Ohio. It is engraved but has a hand written number. It is quite dark as the paper is somewhat yellowed. Any comments or history? Thank you for your interesting site.

How do you find buyers for old coins? What is their market value? Have an elderly friend with many old coins and do not want her cheated. Any help you may give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I visited your website for the first time on Monday, July 15. Unfortunately, my interest in coins did not start until recently acquiring coins as part of my uncle's estate. Coin collecting has been an integral part of my family and I am the newest member to continue with the proud tradition. I look forward to learning all I can about collecting and maintaining the collection. My first impression - WOW - what a history lesson!! END (B)

Nice web page. I've just recently gotten back into coin collecting. My mother got me started, when I was 10 - 12. I have a few, uncompleted collections, that I'd like to finish and upgrade. I have a lot to learn.

My wife works in a T-shirt shop. Today she went to the Bank and got her usual rolls of change. When she got back to the store and opened a roll of pennies, she found one with no marks (a blank). She was wondering how much this would be worth if any thing. The penny came out of a brand new roll!
